An upcoming probiotic review, Vitaltown probiotic complex, 120 Billion CFU’s, includes kefir strain at reasonable cost as compared to Raw Probiotics.
Update on beetroot powder and beetroot juice benefits from my own experience.
Judging by my own current conditions, namely computer mouse arm it is time to address my own occupational hazards, not enough exercise and too much time at my desk and in my studio and less time walking or outdoors.
I have had at least three major exposures to mold from flooded homes or buildings in my lifetime with one exposure lasting at least six years and I overcame the effects with little or no extreme interventions aside from removing myself from the environment and/or remediating when I could. Once I knew that kefir was a major help I utilized that. I have not personally tested my tolerance levels to any degree aside from normal exposure and my last exposure caught me by surprise.
I can not guess my exposure to radiation. For that I would check out Dr. Marco Ruggiero and his latest videos and supplements if you care to learn more.
I can not guess my exposure to other environmental intoxicants however I do stay aware of as many ‘current’ hot topics as I can including environmental stressors. There are too many on this list to stay current most of the time and the list keeps growing as we are in a unique period of history where we are pushing the biological boundaries at a faster pace while suffering the cumulative effects of others.
Will there come a time when my own interventions won’t outpace the effects of known risk factors, I don’t know and neither does anyone else as the scientific exploration has just begun regarding gut and immune health. I just know that so far I have far outlived predictive outcomes by choosing philosophic and scientific integrity over the extremes on either side of the spectrum and that gave me the results I sought.

I will not repeat the ‘G’ word, however be aware that there are several unique properties and effects of this particular substance that you should be aware of, (all forms) and they may be having a greater impact than was previously known like many new pollutants, particulates or chemical intoxicants that have been introduced to an unsuspecting public. That is the real history behind the ‘industrial’ revolution, a game of hide and seek until the find becomes obvious to all. Industry does not have your best interest at heart but is there to protect capitalism and usury while avoiding risk (including the caste system, social usury) so beware of jumping on any bandwagons, the foot you are shooting may be your own. That is all I am going to say about that. Learn to read between the lines.
Below, helpful tips to eliminate possibility and variables so you can focus on your immediate situation and improve with the least amount of effort in the shortest amount of time including at the intracellular level.
How to assess your own risk factors?
Today’s hot topic, hair loss and the possible causes, stress would be at the bottom of the list, minimal application of common sense but the affect of some steroidal hormones would not be. Is everyone increasing the synthetic D’s and other synthetic vitamins, I don’t know. More likely an environmental or lifestyle cause affecting the greatest numbers of the population. A chemo agent? If an organism is the culprit, fungus would be my guess whether Candida or some other fungal toxin or overgrowth. Check your hooves and your heels, that’s a joke but fungus often attacks the feet, that might be an extra clue. Lack of sunlight, possibly (cod liver oil). Poor carb digestion, possibly. Poor collagen formation. All would appear with other skin issues like dryness and flaking. Like nail health, hair loss often reflects a lack of nutrients until the follicle is replaced and new growth ensues but not always. It can also reflect a lack of blood flow or blood health. Some fungal species can cause vasoconstriction. The good news, you can overcome nearly all with the right approach.
Hierarchy of risk:
- SAM (not breastfeeding, poor microbiota formation or destruction). (Re-feeding, microbiota restoration are warranted along with anti oxidants to combat oxidative stress). This is 80% of immune health directly affecting systemic immune and impacts all bodily systems including the brain. Systemic immune is no safeguard in comparison, avoid injections. Microbiota health/function can change both immediately and over time and requires maintenance, especially over age 62.
- Poor sanitation (remediation or removal)
- Food security (lack or poor quality)
- Toxicity/Intoxicants/Pollutants (internal, external, environmental), usually but not always a lifestyle condition.
Possibilities and Eliminations
- Immediate environment (always begin under your own nose in your immediate environment). This includes diet and lifestyle, drug intake etc.
- Near environment (occupational, where do you live, city vs. country, arid vs. humid etc.).
- Immediate physiology (How many clinically identified conditions do you have? Are they related or have a known root cause?) Most clinically labeled conditions have one root cause and are not separate conditions in and of themselves even if they result in a myriad of conditions attached to particular claim.
- Personal and family history (genetics are not set in stone, however history is important for current gut health and the impact on future offspring, unhealthy microbiota status and resulting conditions are generational, transmissible and reversible).
- Greater environment vs. impact. Are you exposed to a pollutant or intoxicant that is impacting large segments of society. Are there anomalies in this effect? Who is not impacted and why? Are other biologies impacted, if so which ones, why and how? (Often this can be the greatest help in assessing causation when statistics encompass greater segments of human society). And this may be your starting point in determining how concerned authorities are about a particular environmental hazard, they won’t be protecting you or the environment, they’ll be shielding the industry and themselves from liability and this is a particular bread crumb that is easier to follow than any clinical assessment because authorities avoid human paper trails for the most part.
Test your own theory (deductive reasoning) with the intervention likely to cause the least harm. Give it enough time to provide benefit dependent upon the substance (malnutrition syndromes can take months to reverse and begin with gut health). Remove either yourself or the questionable substance from your immediate environment if you believe the cause is external/environmental and again give it enough time to gauge impact. Remember that it may take months or years to detox and/or repair from the effects of some substances. If time is of importance concentrate on the most powerful intervention you can tolerate while causing the least harm. When it comes to diet, food elimination usually causes more harm than good in the long run.
This is the best way to help narrow down your own risk and potential for either benefit or greater harm. The most likely cause is right under your nose or your near environment. Out of the top risk factors the majority have lifestyle choice or lifestyle history in the equation rather than external factors, however this does not mean that external/environmental factors don’t or can’t have great impact exceeding lifestyle choice or the ability to combat them, especially when they are synergistic or combined and therefore exert greater influence. The effects of a healthy lifestyle likely won’t overcome greater levels of intoxicants that you may be exposed to whether by choice or not. History is your friend when it comes to assessing causation as there are not many unique events affecting majorities but when there are seek the anomaly to help provide clues for the rule.
Avoid extremes, shiny balls and commissars but pay attention to trending topics, where there is smoke there may be fire but more often than not it’s an intentional blaze with the intent to cause confusion and/or distraction. Use prudence, remember the fundamentals.

WHO STATEMENTS: 2017 Millennium Goal
- Breastfeeding,
- food (security)
- and water security (sanitation)
are major protective factors against malnutrition and critical factors in the maturation of healthy gut microbiota, characterized by a transient bifidobacterial bloom before a global rise in anaerobes. Early depletion in gut Bifidobacterium longum, a typical maternal probiotic, known to inhibit pathogens, represents the first step in gut microbiota alteration associated with severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Later, the absence of the Healthy Mature Anaerobic Gut Microbiota (HMAGM) leads to deficient energy harvest, vitamin biosynthesis and immune protection, and is associated with diarrhea, malabsorption and systemic invasion by microbial pathogens. A therapeutic diet and infection treatment may be unable to restore bifidobacteria and HMAGM.
Researchers found that malnourished children’s microbiota failed to follow the healthy pattern they identified in healthy children. The microbiota of malnourished children is immature, lagging in development behind that of their healthy peers. Supplementing these children’s meals with widely used therapeutic foods that increase calories and nutrient density reduces deaths from malnutrition, but it does not fix their persistent microbiota immaturity.
“Perhaps more insidious than slowing growth is malnutrition’s effect on less visible aspects of health, including impaired brain development and dysfunctional immunity, which follow these children throughout their lives”.

SIBO
SIBO can cause severe malabsorption, serious malnutrition and immune deficiency syndromes in children (non breastfed) and adults.
Prognosis is usually serious, determined mostly by the underlying disease that led to SIBO.
Immunizations
The WHO recommends that immunization or treatment be orally administered due to economic, logistical and security reasons. Furthermore, this route offers important advantages over systemic administration, such as reducing side effects, as the molecules are administered locally and have the ability to stimulate the GALT immune responses (Levine and Dougan, 1998; Neutra and Kozlowski, 2006; Bermúdez-Humarán et al., 2011).
Infections
For ANY infectious or parasitic disease to start, it is ALWAYS a requisite that the host suffer IMMUNODEFICIENCY. At the same time, infectious and parasitic diseases themselves cause additional IMMUNE SUPPRESSION and more MALNUTRITION. This immune suppression is SECONDARY to the accumulation of free radicals, especially oxidizing species, that occurs during and after infectious and parasitic diseases.

Current IBD Research 2016
Currently available treatments for IBD, which target the systemic immune system, induce immunosuppression, thereby exposing the patient to the risk of infections and malignancy. The interplay between the gut and the systemic immune system determines the final effect on target organs, including the bowel mucosa. Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are associated with an altered systemic immune response leading to inflammation-mediated damage to the gut and other organs.

Most importantly, the immune modulatory agents used today for IBD do not achieve remission in many patients.
Not all IBD patients benefit from currently available drugs. Young people with IBD do not want to be on long-term drug therapy. Oral immune therapy, while not yet studied in large cohorts of patients, may provide an answer to this unmet need.

Tolerance
Tolerance is the ability of the immune system to ‘see’ and respond appropriately. Without galactose (a necessary sugar) the immune system can not 'see'. Your immune system would not be able to function without galactose Your body wouldn’t know which cells are
“good” and what cells are “bad.” Your body wouldn’t know who the invaders were and which ones should be attacked by antibodies. As you will learn the importance of these ‘sugars’ in gut microbiota health is a rapidly expanding field of research, only recently
discovered, including HMO's (human milk oligosaccharides).
Why galactose?
Milk sugar aka lactose has been shown to be very beneficial for the human body though unlike sucrose, lactose is made up of glucose and galactose. There is no fructose in lactose. It is a healthy disaccharide sugar. Galactose is known as the “brain sugar” and supports brain development of babies and children. Galactose helps triggers long-term memory formation. Galactose has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and stop its spread, particularly to the liver. This beneficial sugar can also enhance wound healing, decrease inflammation, enhances cellular communication, and increases calcium absorption.
What does immune ‘tolerance’ mean in simple language?
Immune tolerance, or immunological tolerance, or immunotolerance, is a state of unresponsiveness of the immune system to
substances or tissue that have the capacity to elicit an immune response in a given organism. The Th1 cytokine profile is vital for clearance of certain organisms and ancillary immune activity, and a limiting effect on this cytokine profile may result in reduced chances for overcoming infections especially intra-cellular organisms residing within macrophages.
Effective clearance will depend on appropriate macrophage activation (which occurs through IFN≥ release by Th1 and NK cells) and production of nitric oxide. If this pathway is disrupted IFN≥ secretion is blocked, impairing macrophage activation.
Persistent blockade of these inhibitory receptors has lead to the breakdown in immune self tolerance, thereby increasing susceptibility to autoimmune or auto-inflammatory side effects, including rash, colitis, hepatitis and endocrinopathies.
Many drugs may cause checkpoint blockade toxicity including pharmaceutical drugs termed ‘immuno therapy’ by pharmaceutical companies, these include Mab drugs and cancer treatments.

The Elderly
Mammal milk is required for enhanced phagocytosis as shown by research, especially in the elderly. Whole fat mammal milk can actually restore phagocytosis in senescent cells in the elderly. Phagocytosis, by which immune cells ‘eat’ bacteria or infected cells, is one of the mechanisms that help to resist infections. Lactic acid bacteria strains like acidophilus also increases phagocytosis.
