In this video post I give a review for Cultured Life Kefir grains.

Since my last product review for lactose didn’t produce any noticeable results and since I did recommend this product in a short post in The Breakfast Club for a specific reader and as I never give a recommendation for something I haven’t tried myself I purchased the product before writing an actual post.

I was very happy with product. It arrived ahead of schedule. The kefir grains were live and healthy. The directions were clear. As much as kefir grain babysitting can be tiresome it seemed a lot more simple than relying on a commercial product or trying to replicate my favorite commercial brand probiotics. Also my favorite store bought kefir is hit or miss regarding made with whole fat mammal milk, an absolute must have for me.

I liked the taste of the product. I don’t like kefir that is overly sour and this wasn’t however I always add it to whole fat mammal milk (they need fed and there is no better incubator than your body temp.). According to my husband it is similar to old European type kefir he drank as a child.

With a second ferment the B vitamin content will increase substantially.

Part of my mission is accessibility and cost benefit for all and that includes myself. My main goal is to ensure that natural oral immune therapy remains easily within reach of anyone, especially regarding the outcome of SAM and development of chronic disease. I personally would never recommend an expensive ‘start up’ fee for health benefit when my initial results were achieved with minimum cost and effort.

MISSION STATEMENT
80% Rule
80% safety, GRAS (Generally
Regarded As Safe) and well
tolerated in the majority when
used as directed
80% efficacy (the medical
threshold for certainty and gold
standard of care)
80% ease of use and
compliance (can the majority
reasonably achieve this)
80% accessibility/cost (can the
majority reasonably access this)

And finally, highly effective, cross condition and proponent of the scientific method, and open source science as both were the method and the mission employed which achieved the greatest advances to mankind throughout history.

‘Viruses’ are classified as non living things.

Dead/dying matter can only produce an endo toxin (LPS) or a gas. H2S is rocket fuel for cancer. Endotoxemia is a syndrome with specific symptoms and can accelerate immune deficiency syndromes, AIDS, SCID and PID. Colostrum both prevents and ameliorates.

It has been my observation that chronic ‘virus’ chasers usually end up with cancer no matter the anti viral used, natural or otherwise (this does not include colostrum as an anti ‘viral’). Adverse effects also accrue for those undergoing perpetual ‘infection’ control where anti microbial use is unconstrained. This usually has the effect of more damage to the gut/immune system. Repeated antibiotic use has devastating effects on the gut/immune system as do many other drugs and chemicals.

Clearance of intracellular debris requires appropriate macrophage activation.

If the war on cancer ended on the note that viruses do not cause cancer well…. that only leaves so many other suppositions to consider and not my problem if no one heard the first shot decades ago.

Yes, it kind of killed me to bring up the topic of diet aside from normal pattern eating after foundational issues are addressed but since it appears Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Berg have an intertwined approach I included them for the non responders. As I knew would happen, the simple plan of Dr. Berg with only 7 videos quickly turned in to 10 if not more by now. Another ‘easy eating plan’…..

It is best to fully address the foundational issues regarding poor microbiota and then you can more easily determine how your lifestyle impacts you, including diet. I didn’t want to get on that hamster wheel again but some do have issues with  phagocytosis, chronic dysregulation, severe metabolic issues and endotoxins. Daily whole fat mammal milk will resolve most of them. Fear and anxiety increases cortisol levels and can have the affect of a steroid.

I can’t go around guessing who got breastfed and who didn’t or who had their microbiota destroyed post birth accidentally or via lifestyle. Like everything else I rely on statistical analysis to presume the likely state of a person and the trend line definitely favors the hierarchy of risk as seen on this site. It’s more reasonable to assume adult diets will not rescue your initial state although I certainly do take in to account a ‘post sickness’ syndrome or various causes related to toxicity and drug use (including the eternal fear and organism killing spree that is ingrained in society) and I also include the impact of injections on the mucosa and the immune system. Learning how to rate these factors is a key to determining your own particular roadblocks and eventually overcoming them.

Don’t use ultra-pasteurized milk when making kefir. Your kefir won’t do well. Many times organic milk that your purchase from a store is ultra-pasteurized, even if it does not say ultra-pasteurized. Ultra-pasteurized milk is heated at high temperatures for longer than regular milk, causing many problems when making kefir. Remember that kefir will add enzymes and good bacteria to pasteurized milk and make it a new food but when it is ultra-pasteurized or heated for long periods the milk is no longer viable for making kefir.

This includes UHT, Parmalat etc.

Alternavita: All you need to know (critical info in a nutshell)..... by focusing exclusively on these foundational health and immune development issues up to 90% of chronic conditions can be eliminated.

WHO STATEMENTS: 2017 Millennium Goal

  1. Breastfeeding,
  2. food (security)
  3. and water security (sanitation)

are major protective factors against malnutrition and critical factors in the maturation of healthy gut microbiota, characterized by a transient bifidobacterial bloom before a global rise in anaerobes. Early depletion in gut Bifidobacterium longum, a typical maternal probiotic, known to inhibit pathogens, represents the first step in gut microbiota alteration associated with severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Later, the absence of the Healthy Mature Anaerobic Gut Microbiota (HMAGM) leads to deficient energy harvest, vitamin biosynthesis and immune protection, and is associated with diarrhea, malabsorption and systemic invasion by microbial pathogens. A therapeutic diet and infection treatment may be unable to restore bifidobacteria and HMAGM.

Researchers found that malnourished children’s microbiota failed to follow the healthy pattern they identified in healthy children. The microbiota of malnourished children is immature, lagging in development behind that of their healthy peers. Supplementing these children’s meals with widely used therapeutic foods that increase calories and nutrient density reduces deaths from malnutrition, but it does not fix their persistent microbiota immaturity.

“Perhaps more insidious than slowing growth is malnutrition’s effect on less visible aspects of health, including impaired brain development and dysfunctional immunity, which follow these children throughout their lives”.

SIBO

SIBO can cause severe malabsorption, serious malnutrition and immune deficiency syndromes in children (non breastfed) and adults.

Prognosis is usually serious, determined mostly by the underlying disease that led to SIBO.

Immunizations

The WHO recommends that immunization or treatment be orally administered due to economic, logistical and security reasons. Furthermore, this route offers important advantages over systemic administration, such as reducing side effects, as the molecules are administered locally and have the ability to stimulate the GALT immune responses  (Levine and Dougan, 1998Neutra and Kozlowski, 2006Bermúdez-Humarán et al., 2011).

Infections

For ANY infectious or parasitic disease to start, it is ALWAYS a requisite that the host suffer IMMUNODEFICIENCY. At the same time, infectious and parasitic diseases themselves cause additional IMMUNE SUPPRESSION and more MALNUTRITION. This immune suppression is SECONDARY to the accumulation of free radicals, especially oxidizing species, that occurs during and after infectious and parasitic diseases.

Current IBD Research 2016

Currently available treatments for IBD, which target the systemic immune system, induce immunosuppression, thereby exposing the patient to the risk of infections and malignancy. The interplay between the gut and the systemic immune system determines the final effect on target organs, including the bowel mucosa. Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are associated with an altered systemic immune response leading to inflammation-mediated damage to the gut and other organs.

Most importantly, the immune modulatory agents used today for IBD do not achieve remission in many patients.

Not all IBD patients benefit from currently available drugs. Young people with IBD do not want to be on long-term drug therapy. Oral immune therapy, while not yet studied in large cohorts of patients, may provide an answer to this unmet need.

Tolerance

Tolerance is the ability of the immune system to ‘see’ and respond appropriately. Without galactose (a necessary sugar) the immune system can not 'see'. Your immune system would not be able to function without galactose Your body wouldn’t know which cells are “good” and what cells are “bad.” Your body wouldn’t know who the invaders were and which ones should be attacked by antibodies. As you will learn the importance of these ‘sugars’ in gut microbiota health is a rapidly expanding field of research, only recently discovered, including HMO's (human milk oligosaccharides).

Why galactose? Milk sugar aka lactose has been shown to be very beneficial for the human body though unlike sucrose, lactose is made up of glucose and galactose. There is no fructose in lactose. It is a healthy disaccharide sugar. Galactose is known as the “brain sugar” and supports brain development of babies and children. Galactose helps triggers long-term memory formation. Galactose has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and stop its spread, particularly to the liver. This beneficial sugar can also enhance wound healing, decrease inflammation, enhances cellular communication, and increases calcium absorption.
What does immune ‘tolerance’ mean in simple language?
Immune tolerance, or immunological tolerance, or immunotolerance, is a state of unresponsiveness of the immune system to substances or tissue that have the capacity to elicit an immune response in a given organism. The Th1 cytokine profile is vital for clearance of certain organisms and ancillary immune activity, and a limiting effect on this cytokine profile may result in reduced chances for overcoming infections especially intra-cellular organisms residing within macrophages. Effective clearance will depend on appropriate macrophage activation (which occurs through IFN≥ release by Th1 and NK cells) and production of nitric oxide. If this pathway is disrupted IFN≥ secretion is blocked, impairing macrophage activation. Persistent blockade of these inhibitory receptors has lead to the breakdown in immune self tolerance, thereby increasing susceptibility to autoimmune or auto-inflammatory side effects, including rash, colitis, hepatitis and endocrinopathies. Many drugs may cause checkpoint blockade toxicity including pharmaceutical drugs termed ‘immuno therapy’ by pharmaceutical companies, these include Mab drugs and cancer treatments. The Elderly

Mammal milk is required for enhanced phagocytosis as shown by research, especially in the elderly. Whole fat mammal milk can actually restore phagocytosis in senescent cells in the elderly. Phagocytosis, by which immune cells ‘eat’ bacteria or infected cells, is one of the mechanisms that help to resist infections. Lactic acid bacteria strains like acidophilus also increases phagocytosis.
